Very rare first (and only) edition of the first book in French entirely devoted to clockmaking, illustrated with numerous woodcuts in the text, including 26 plates (ch. I-XII then I-XIV). The author was an Augustinian monk from the rue Malpalu convent in Rouen.
Small brown spots on a few pages. Ex-libris J.M. (Barbier II, 866.)
