In-4, 74 pp. Ivory vellum, spine ribbed, title page (contemporary binding). With an interesting handwritten note in pencil (from the previous owner) in fine: "Missing the ff. 'Q'? [pp. 59-62] but ... as these are epitaphs concerning members of the author's family, perhaps he himself decided on this deletion for reasons known only to himself. The reprint by Ed. Frère on behalf of the Société des bibliophiles normands did not include this second part, deeming it irrelevant. Finally, the extreme rarity of this small volume prevents comparisons, especially as Frère only mentions two known copies, the one in the Rouen municipal library, itself incomplete at the head, and the one he used for the reprint, which belongs to him, having acquired it at the Riaux sale in 1830. This one? Ex-libris J.M. (Frère I, 327.) Attached is the 1872 reprint of the same work by Édouard Frère (Rouen Imprimerie Boissel, 1872). Small in-4 paperback, marbled paper cover with title label. Limited edition (ex. n°43). Some light foxing.
