In-folio (55 x 38 cm) of [2] ff., VI pp., [57] ff. (including 27 of text), red Bradel boards, gilt title on spine, gilt frieze framing boards with central gilt fleuron, spine rebacked. First edition of this beautiful work, limited to 150 copies. The iconography comprises 30 finely lithographed plates by Langlumé and Motte, based on the author's drawings. Attached is 1 browned fly leaf showing the plate of the gable of the prosecutor's room in the Palais de Justice. Some defects to the boards, restored tears on 3 plates, 2 plates detached, small wormholes in the inner margin affecting qqs ff. at the beginning and end of the work, otherwise a fine copy.
