GOMBOUST (Jacques). Rothomagus - Rouen, 1655, facsimile reprint published by the Société rouennaise de bibliophiles with La Description des antiquitez et singularitez de la ville de Rouen, text and plates by Jules ADELINE. Rouen, Espérance Cagniard, 1873-75.
In-plano (62.5 x 50 cm), green half-chagrin with corners, muted ribbed spine, cold filets on the boards, title-piece on the first cover, covers preserved (period binding).
Facsimile of the map of Rouen drawn by Jacques Gombust, ingénieur ordinaire du Roi, in 1655: 6 plates engraved by ADELINE and printed by Delatre, mounted on canvas (122 x 102.5 cm). An engraved title leaf from the book Rouen au XVIIe siècle by J. ADELINE and a leaf with one of the 6 engraved plan plates are included.
Some minor wear, otherwise a fine copy. Very rare, only 60 copies in trade, according to a handwritten note on the flyleaf.
