CORNEILLE (Pierre). Théâtre de Pierre Corneille avec des commentaires. sl [Genève], sn [Cramer], 1764. 12 vol. in-8, half red long-grained morocco, decorated smooth spines, gilt title and tomaison (rel. post. c. 1790-1800). A fine edition printed by Voltaire at the Cramer brothers in Geneva, accompanied by commentaries. It is illustrated with a frontispiece by Pierre engraved by Watelet depicting the Genie crowning the bust of Corneille (accompanied here by a second state engraved by Elizabeth Thiebaut) and 34 figures by Gravelot engraved by Baquoy, Flipart, Lemire, Lempereur, de Lorgueil, Prévost & Radigues, 16 of which in 2 or even 3 states.
