"HALLOT (François de Montmorency du), lieutenant-general of Henri IV in Normandy, brave and valiant lord, was treacherously and cold-bloodedly murdered in his house in Vernon, on Sept. 13, 1592, by the Marquis d'Alègre, baron de St-Just, governor of Gisors.
