This is a reprint (1705) by Pierre François Doublet in in-4 format of the original 1558 edition; this counterfeit having itself become very rare, a second was made in 1745. It is illustrated with 2 woodcut portraits. Ch. De Bourgueville's family, for reasons that are difficult to understand today, had a large number of copies of his work destroyed after his death, so that within a few years it became extremely rare (Frère I, 140-141.).
