In-12 fawn calf, spine ribbed with cold decoration, black title page, double cold fillet framing the boards with gilt arms of the city of Edinburgh in the center (motto "Nisi Dominus Frustra"), frontispiece illustrated with an engraved vignette (depicting Mont Saint-Michel).
