Leaves, full color illustrated cover, red velvet folder with gold titled spine, green velvet slipcase, slightly faded and rubbed (publisher's slipcase). First edition illustrated with 23 plates of uniforms in color, including a frontispiece portrait of General Rollet, 25 plates of reproductions in black, and numerous drawings in black in the text. One of the 25 first editions on Lafuma pur fil paper, containing a black suite of the 25 uniform plates. The subscription form has been kept with the copy. A very good copy in its box with the colors of the Légion étrangère.
