Portrait of the Dauphin Louis (1729 - 1765), son of Louis XV and Marie Leszinska.
He is shown wearing a red habit, a white vest embroidered with gold, and the blue cordon of the Order of the Holy Spirit in a sash.
Oil on canvas. Old sash frame (old varnish slightly yellowed).
On the reverse, an old inscription Louis de France

Provenance: Collection Coullaud, Angers, sale 1954, Tocqué (according to a typed label on the frame);
19th-century reproduction of the full-length portrait of the Dauphin in his study, exhibited at the Salon of 1739, now in the Louvre, a replica of which is in the Musée de Versailles.
