Small in-12 brown basane, smooth spine decorated (early 18th c. binding) Worm gallery at tail of spine. Corners worn. Some rubbing. Light spotting.
Rare and curious little work devoted to PRECIOUS STONES in their essentially therapeutic aspect. For example, topaz, placed on a wound, stops hemorrhaging, then cures hemorrhoids, frenzy, anger, "sullen passions" and melancholy. Lamia tooth, unicorn, rhinoceros horn, ivory, pearls, etc. are also analyzed.
