(lacking the engraved title and the following f.), 521-[22] pp. Brown calf, ribbed spine (period binding). Binding very worn, leather missing, first cover detached. First edition. The illustration consists of 122 emblematic figures engraved on copper: 67 figures for Le Cabinet des devises, a large composition with the arms of the Duchesse d'Aiguillon engraved by Laloüette for Le Jardin de devises, 57 figures for Les Devises adoptées. The 20 mottoes of Le Jardin and the 14 royal mottoes are not illustrated; nor are a frontispiece designed and engraved by Le Paultre, a title vignette with the mark and arms of the Cramoisy family, and a repeated woodcut entablature.
