[FRANÇOIS Ier]. Ordonnances Royaulx Nouvelles leues publiees enregistrees en la court de parlement a Rouen le. viii. jour de Janvier. Nouvellement Imprimees p[ar] Nicolas le roux / pour Claude le Roy / libraire tenant son ouvroir au hault des degres du palais. Rouen, Claude le Roy, 1540.
Small gothic in-4 (17 x 11 cm) of [4]-16 ff. (mal ch. xv). Jansenist red morocco, ribbed spine, gilt title, interior lace (Hardy-Mennil). Title in woodcut Renaissance frame, with IG initials at bottom.
Ordinances made by François I at Fontainebleau in December 1539 and published by the Parliament of Rouen on the following January 8, concerning judges, clerks, lawyers and procurators of the King.
A very fine copy. Engraved bookplate by Jules Adeline (skeleton holding the initials AE and P) with handwritten mention in pencil (Pelay sale Paris May 1923 120 F n°115 [...] Le Verdier sale Rouen March 1936 [...] 82 F). Ex-libris J.M. Ex-libris G.-R. Piclin.
