[...] Paris, at the author's expense, 1638. In-8 contemporary ivory vellum. [4] ff.-104 pp, [4] ff.-40 pp ("Officium solenne S. With a fine fold-out frontispiece depicting the saint delivered from prison and carried to heaven by two angels above the town of Vernon and the Seine, and another engraved portrait out of text depicting the saint supported by an angel and escaping from the hands of the Saracens who held him prisoner. Rare. Son of the Count of Vernon, Adjutor (b. c. 1070) went on crusade in 1095; taken prisoner and persecuted, he is said to have been miraculously freed and transported to Vernon. On his return, he built a chapel to Saint Mary Magdalene in gratitude.
