[Manuscript]. Mémoires pour servir à l'histoire de la ville de Dieppe, suivies de notices sur les Eglises, Chapelles, Couvents, Hôpitaux et Maladéries, sur quelques hommes célèbres et sur diverses pratiques religieuses et cérémonies particulières à cette ville. Transcribed and arranged by C. L. R. [Renard]. sl1836. In-4 of [2], VI-329 pp. Pages 313 to 320 are paginated but left blank with a simple pencil border. Half blond calf, spine ribbed, gilt title, gilt monogram on spine (period binding). A handsome manuscript carefully written in brown ink, with a calligraphic title bearing an illustrated title vignette, and a fine layout for the first page with a headband bearing the royal coat of arms, a calligraphic title and a fine illustrated and historiated lettering. In his 6 pp. note at the head, signed Renard, the author explains that he has rearranged another preliminary manuscript from 1754 by a certain Louis Clémence, which was itself a transcription of 17th- and 18th-century texts on Dieppe.
