[Manuscrit]. Livre des choses notables de l'Abbaye de Sainct Michel du Treport Ordre Sainct Benoist Congrega[ti]on S. Maur. 1660. Small folio (30 x 19 cm) of 230 pp. (some page breaks). Contemporary ivory vellum, muted spine. Chronicle written by several hands, tracing the history of the abbey between 1660 and 1705. Followed by - and interesting writings for the connoissance of what passes for the conservation of the Monastery of the Abbaÿe de Saint Michel du Treport pres la Villle d'Eu, Normandie, since the month of September 1766 until the 12th of April 1767" (upper margin stained and partially eaten away making the reading of the beginning of the text difficult). 12 pp. - 1] p. "Table des principales matières contenës dans le premier tome du livre huitième des choses mémorables arrivées dans l'Abbaye de Saint Michel du Trêport [...]" (unfinished table) followed by 12 blank ff. - Livre des choses mémorables de l'Abbaye du Treport depuis l'année 1739 jusqu'à l'année 1750. 1 p. title (ch. 267) then f. 1, an original 4 pp. document from 1747, ff. 8-13, ff. 2-[8] (prieuré de Rougecamp). A small early handwritten note by the former owner states "from ff. 1 to 81 this diary was probably written by R.P. B. Coquelin, reformer of the abbey". Precious collection of 20 original handwritten documents (correspondence with the prior, deeds, etc.). Ex-libris J.M. Stamp in illegible red ink on p. 1.
