BOISNE Disertissimo Rhetoricus professore in collegio Sylvano celeberrimo Cadomensis Academiae [...] [engraved title and manuscript signed Postel and dated 1746). In-8, [1] f. flyleaf with handwritten bookplate of J. Postel from 1751, [1] f. title, one engraved frontispiece (allegory of rhetoric), 443 pp. handwritten in brown ink in Latin, 9 engravings out of text of ancient and modern authors (Virgil, Racine, Corneille, Boileau, Homer, Cicero, etc.), diploma of rhetoric printed for J. Postel fold-out, a manuscript leaf signed by the professor (Boisne), an engraving of Sainte Catherine. Marbled basane, spine ribbed, title page in red marble (period binding). Jacques Postel was a medical doctor in Caen.
