A manufacturer, man of letters and politician, Noël Lefebvre-Duruflé (1792-1877) had published in 1825-1826 on the same subject (with minor differences in the places described) a very fine work entitled Excursion sur les côtes et dans les ports de Normandie, also by Ostervald, illustrated with 40 views, in color for the deluxe prints (Polak 5603; unknown to Frère.).
