"Gourdin (François-Philippe), former Benedictine monk of the monastery of St-Ouen de Rouen, former professor of rhetoric at the college of Beaumont-en-Auge, bibliographer, member of several learned societies, born in Noyon (Oise) on Nov. 8, 1739, died in Blosseville-Bonsecours lès-Rouen on July 11, 1825. Before the Revolution, he was librarian of the Abbey of St-Ouen and of the Acad. de Rouen, and held the same post at the Bibliothèque publique from the opening of this establishment in 1809. Frère.
