"BERNIÈRES (Jean de), sieur de Louvigny, brother of Jourdaine de Bernières, founder of the Ursuline community in Caen, was born in Caen in 1602 and died there on May 3, 1659. After serving as Treasurer of France in Caen, he lived close to his sister in the Hermitage retreat, where he composed several works on mystical theology. Frère. A fine copy.
