The first story is that of the buccaneer Alexandre-Olivier Oexmelin (1645-1707). It contains the life, manners & customs of the buccaneers & inhabitants of S. Dominguë & La Tortuë; an exact description of these places; & a statement of the Offices, both Ecclesiastical and Secular, & what the great Princes of Europe possess there. The narrative occupies the first two volumes. The third volume contains the Journal du voyage Fait à la Mer du Sud by buccaneer Jacques Raveneau de Lussan (1663-1690). This voyage took place between 1684 and 1688. The final volume covers Charles Johnson's History of English Pirates. The final chapters are devoted to two female pirates: Marie Read and Anne Bonny. A fine copy.
