HONEGGER-LAVATER (Warja) & PERRAULT (Charles). Little Re - Lot 281
HONEGGER-LAVATER (Warja) & PERRAULT (Charles). Little Red Riding Hood. Paris, Adrien Maeght, 1965.
In-12 accordion-fold folio, red cloth-covered boards, title label, Plexiglas case. Several small light spots on cover.
Amusing little book-object designed by Warja Lavater and produced as an original lithograph, unfolding over several meters, in which the protagonists and settings of the tale are represented by geometric elements (reminiscent of the children's book Petit-Jaune et Petit-Bleu, 1959, or the latest Fauve d'Or d'Angoulême, "La Couleur des choses" by Martin Panchaud).
Swiss painter and illustrator Warja Lavater (1913-2007), a graduate of the Zurich School of Fine Arts, founded an art studio with her husband Gottfried Honegger in 1937, and began illustrating her first fold-out book with her publisher Adrien Maeght.
