USSIEUX (Louis d'). Les nouvelles françoises. Paris, Nyon & Belin, 1783. 3 vol. in-8, porphyry calf, ornate smooth spines, triple gilt fillet framing the covers, gilt roulette on the spines and inside, gilt edges (some wear, angular wetness in volumes 1 and 2). First complete edition, partly original, of this collection of fifteen tales. The first two volumes had previously appeared under the title Décaméron françois. The third volume appears here for the first time. It is illustrated with a vignette used for the title of each volume, 15 out-of-text figures, 11 vignettes and 11 culs-de-lampe, by Binet, Desmaisons, Desrais and Martini, engraved by Berthet, Gaucher, Giraud l'aîné, Hemery, Leroy, Martini and Madame Ponce.
