[16] ff. 302 pp. Contemporary brown calf. very worn binding with missing leather. First edition of Gueudeville's translation, decorated with a plate of portraits (Erasmus, More and Holbein), a frontispiece, a vignette with the arms of Jean de Bye at the head of the epistle, 73 (of 75) large figures in the text and 6 folded plates, all engraved in intaglio after Holbein. Missing pp. 159-160 and last few pages of catalog. Small worm gallery in lower margin of several pages. One leaf torn but not missing. Missing half of a folding plate (torn).
