In-24, red morocco, smooth ornate spine, title page in green morocco, triple gilt fillet framing the boards, gilt edges (period binding).
Illustrated with 29 figures engraved outside the text, including a frontispiece, a title and 27 historical subjects engraved by Patas after Fossier. A fine copy bearing the arms of the de Montguyot family, allied to the de Viefville family through the marriage of Jeanne de Montguyot to Jean de Viefville in 1707 (grandparents of Jean-Louis de Viefville des Essarts, mayor of Guise, deputy to the Estates-General and Baron d'Empire, 1744-1820) (source d'Hozier, unknown to O.H.R.).
