French school of the XVIth century, Set of 5 natural oak beams painted in black representing an illustration of "the story of Judith". Height of the beams from 150 to 199 cm and 14 cm wide Exceptional PART of a fresco dating from the last quarter of the XVIth century representing "The story of Judith" discovered in 1983 in the Hotel of Arthus Fillon in Verneil sur Avre. Of more than 9 m², only 5 parts remain today, offering a fragmentary view of the original work. Only a copy of a period photograph allows us to appreciate the work as a whole. Remained in the family since this date, a part of this fresco is today lost without us having succeeded in finding the trace of it near the various speakers who had access to this exceptional unit in 1983.
