Above the banquet, the wicked rich man in torment implores Abraham to have mercy on him; in heaven the angels carry Lazarus to Abraham's bosom. Oil on panel. Oak. Two horizontal boards. Parquetage (small lacks; old varnish dirty and yellowed). EXPERT: Mr Partice DUBOIS On the pie brought by the servant on the right is an inscription E. PIL (?) H. 53.5 - W. 74.5 cm Wooden frame and gilded stucco Restoration with fluted pattern. Some of the reworkings of the composition by Frans Francken II, known as the Younger, have sometimes been attributed to Gaspar van den Hoeck (Antwerp ca. 1575 - ca. 1648).
