In-8 of 99 pp. Brown cardboard, smooth spine, gilt title, cold stamping on the cover (contemporary binding). 5th piece extracted from the first collection of the Société des Philobiblon "Bibliographical and historical miscellanies". " This Society of bibliophiles, men of letters and scholars was founded in London in 1853 under the patronage of H.R.H. Prince Albert. H.R.H. the Duke d'Aumale was then its Honorary President. According to the statutes, the number of members could not exceed forty. The volumes, published by the Society in 100 copies (...) were not put on the market. Each member received two hardback cloth copies, signed by the president and the secretary and bearing the name of the person to whom they were given. The Philobiblon Society ceased to exist in 1884. From its origin until 1884, it published 15 volumes of "Mélanges", containing pieces in various languages: English, French, Italian." Vicar VI, 582. Small freckles on the first 2 leaves. Very good copy of this very rare publication.
