Grand in-8 of [1] 5 ff.n.ch., 240 pp. Speckled calf, ornate ribbed spine, double gilt fillet framing the plates, cold rolled on the cuts. Illustrated with a title vignette and 5 culs-de-lampe engraved by Haas. Original edition. Roger was secretary to Count de Vernstoff, chamberlain to Christian VI of Denmark, and in 1751, Minister of Foreign Affairs. Collection of 15 letters concerning the Danish government, the Danish Code Book, the Royal Act, the Trading Companies, etc. With the translation of the Royal Act. The letters are addressed to Mr. Beaumont, Counsel to the Council... of Geneva (letters 1-10), and to Mr. Trochin, Counsellor in Geneva (11th letter), Mr. N., trader in Amsterdam (letters 12-14), and to Mr. Cornabé, Colonel in the service of the United Provinces).
